Built around 1913 by a Frenchman who’d been farming in Brazil, this elegant great house is a unique and beautiful blend of styles. Set in expansive, wooded grounds, it’s a fine example of how repurposing saves our heritage. When Francia was transformed into the private Providence School, this historic property stopped welcoming visitors. Here’s your chance!

At the Norman Niles Roundabout on the Errol Barrow Highway, turn East on Highway 4. Soon the road will fork. Go left towards Gun Hill. Pass The Glebe and continue up towards Walkers Terrace. At the red tyre repair sign, turn left towards Thorpes Cottage and continue on that road another 4 minutes or so. Watch for our signs. Pass Providence Secondary School and enter through the elementary school driveway.
