Built around 1780/90 as a storeroom, the house became a dwelling when the original plantation house was destroyed, either by fire or hurricane. The gallery and bedroom wing were added at that time. The house has been owned by the Massiah/Ward family since then. The present owner has restored it to its former glory and has added and converted other buildings as accommodations.
Open House Begins at 1:45pm and Ends at 5:00pm
Drive north on Highway 2A, passing the huge roundabout at St. Thomas church and the turnoff to Apes Hill. Soon after the sign for Lower Carlton on the left, look for the turnoff to Turtleback Ridge on your right. Turn in and go uphill. Pass the Turtleback Ridge entrance. Watch for our signs.
